Legau + PLMJ

PLMJ and Legau join forces on the first Portuguese AI legal assistant.

PLMJ is a leading Portuguese law firm. PLMJ and Legau deepen their partnership with the launch of the Legau AI Assistant, which enables a leap in the use and integration of generative artificial intelligence in the delivery of legal services.

While traditional artificial intelligence was already a reality in large firms, the use of generative AI has brought far more complex challenges and real risks, especially around information security.

01

The challenge

This is precisely where the Legau AI Assistant stands out: it was designed with a framework specific to the sector and to the Portuguese legal system, ensuring the security and confidentiality of the data processed.

Uploaded information is used only for its intended purpose and is not taken into account in developing the models. It therefore stays within the universe of authorised users, mitigating known limitations of other similar tools.

02

Adoption

Another challenge the Legau AI Assistant solves is the dependence on each lawyer's technical skill. Solutions on the market require skills that are still not widespread, such as knowing how to phrase instructions so that the results are the ones intended.

The Legau AI Assistant has 16 use cases designed specifically for tasks that lawyers perform when delivering legal services.

Results

The Legau AI Assistant was tested at PLMJ over several months by a group of lawyers, with results that largely confirmed the potential of this partnership.

Ongoing collaboration and feedback between the Legau team and PLMJ allow the assistant to be continuously optimised.

“

At PLMJ, we are obsessively looking for a service delivery model that lives up to what clients rightly demand of their partners: productivity, speed and added value. Even before the AI assistant, Legau had already shown an exceptional ability to develop an application that supports legal work. The law firm experience of two of its founders makes all the difference in understanding lawyers' needs and how they work.

“This deepening of the partnership is a natural step in the relationship we have been building with PLMJ, with whom we share a love of innovation, creativity and entrepreneurship, and a concern for improving lawyers' lives.”
